Sunday the 28th of August 2022 will go down in history as a very impurrtant day for us here at Fang & Fur. On this auspicious date, The Cat Art Auction in support of Pet Refuge was held at Everybody's in downtown Auckland!

In case you've had your head in the litter box, we hosted this event (as well as the accompanying online auction) to raise funds for Pet Refuge - an incredibly important charity providing shelter and care for pets of people affected by domestic violence.

The support and response to this fundraiser has been overwhelming with artists and celebrities giving their time and talents to create artworks, and cat art loving purrchasers fighting it out fur their favourite pieces!

We are very purrleased to announce that $11,500 was raised for Pet Refuge!

A big 'thank you' too to everyone who attended the auction event and made it the great day that it was. The team at Everybody's kept the food and drinks flowing; DJs Fur Balls, Dee X Three, and Johnny Dambuster kept the tunes playing; and many a kitty goody was purrchased at the Fang & Fur and Nature's Ki stands.

The live auction itself was an exciting affair, with John Bowring from Ray White in charge of proceedings. There were bidding wars, and bids that came in a fraction of a second before the gavel was due to fall! Needless to say, everyone was on the edge of their seats!

And to top it all off, Natasha Payne from Newhub came along to cover proceedings!

Thanks again to our wonderful sponsors Nature's Ki (Acana, Orijen, World's Best Cat Litter), CareVets and Broadline Spot-On Solution for Cats. This event wouldn't have happened without your amazing support!

Purrs & Headbumps,
Caroline
